The Next Big Thing!

It's a Blog Hop all about what's coming next. I had a slow year last year, but I've got big plans for 2013 and in celebration of that I'm going to answer a few questions about my current WIP and give away a book from my back list, winner's choice! So let's get started.

1. What is the working title of my book?
      Three Small Words

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?
I got the idea for Three Small Words one day when i was thinking about the far reaching  effect
a seemingly random event can have on our lives.

3. What genre does your book fall under?
      Contemporary Gay Erotic Romance

4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie?
This was hard for me. I'm not very up to date on actors and horrible when it comes to names
but after some thought and digging around I came up with an answer. I hope you approve.

Liam Hemsworth as Gage      Jim Sturgess as Trent

5. What is a one sentence Synopsis of your book?
The country mouse meets the city mouse.

6. Will your book be self published or represented by an agency?
I plan to submit to an epublisher as I do not self publish due to time and financial constraints.

7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
As I haven't finished the first draft yet, this is a very good question. My guess is about six months.
I am not a very fast writer.

8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I'm not sure which specific books, but it fits in with most romantic m/m stories focusing on the
lives of the characters with children.

9. Who or what inspired you to write this book?
Three Small Words was inspired by an unknown young man walking along the side of the road in
      overalls.

10. What else about your book might interest the reader?
Three Small Words is a story about the danger of preconceived ideas.

Well, that about wraps it up. Please leave a comment if you'd like to win a book, feel free to ask me a few questions.

I know there are supposed to be four links for next week, however I could only find two people with the time to participate who haven't done so already. Please join my friends below on January 2nd for a look at what they have in the works.

  1. How many books are you going to write about Alex & Jared? & how long does it usually take you to write a book?

    1. Ah, the Jared and Alex question :). Book five in the series releases Jan 12, 2013. My plan has always been to stop and six, but we'll see how it goes. If the readers really want another one I might be convinced.

How long it takes me to write just depends. If the Stars Fall took a long time because I had a personal crises in the middle and didn't write at all for months. On average for me to get a book submitted and be satisfied it's my best I'd say six months for a 50-60K book. This is why you don't see my books popping up every month. I wish I was faster.

Thank you for the questions Deb! Good Luck :)

  2. Hi Diane,

This new book sounds interesting. I am looking forward to reading it.

Will Three Small Words be a single book or will it be the start of a new series?

    1. Hi Sharon :),

Right now I don't have any plans for a sequel for Three Small Words, but I guess we'll see how Trent and Gage wind things up. Unless everyone dies I don't think any book is a set in stone stand alone, and even that is no guarantee!

    2. Well I certainly hope that nobody dies. LOL

      Happy New Year, my friend!
