Happily stealing this idea from Author friend Chris Quinton.
Ever thought of challenging an author?
Ever wondered what triggers their imaginations, what word, phrase or image sets their creativity on fire? Now is the chance for you to find out.
Give me a two sentence starting point and two names, and I'll write a Double Drabble of 200 words from them.
Who knows? Your challenge might be the one to inspire more than just the drabble...you might see a book dedicated to you in the future!
So let's see what you have for me, I'll do my best to do a drabble a day until they are complete!
***Definition from Wikipedia - A drabble is an extremely short work of fiction of exactly one hundred words in length, not necessarily including the title. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in an extremely confined space.***
The trouble with maps, Lee decided, was that they lied. Well, hand-drawn ones did, especially if the artist - Harry - couldn't bloody draw!
ReplyDeleteHa! Fantastic Chris, you really have my creative process going :)
DeleteOkay! This will be fun!
ReplyDeleteMy two names are Wyatt and Nolan. Here are my two sentences:
When Nolan's small business is robbed he meets hard nosed cop, Wyatt. No matter the attraction Nolan feels he knows Wyatt would never want someone with his past...
Have fun writing! :)
Oh very intriguing! Can't wait to get ahold of your boys Juliana, Thank you for playing!
DeleteThis one sounds really good!!!
DeleteFor the last five years I, Trystan Jameston, was being held captive by a deranged madman. His son Ashton Schmidt, a man who has become my shinning ray of sun within this endless dark hole, has promised to help me find a way out, the problem is I know in my heart that I can't leave without him.
ReplyDeleteAs you can see, my mind has slipped into the deep end. Since I can't walk much right now, this is the end result. haha.
You have really long sentences o.O LOL! Thanks Denise, this sounds like fun...the problem will be how to tackle it in just two sentences...
Deletei know, i'm sorry. i jamed an awful lot within those sentences..
